One thing about DotNetNuke is the advancement in the language options available making it a true Open Source Multi Lingual application. What this means to you, the DotNetNuke website admnistrator is that you can offer your users an integrated method of communicating within your site.
It doesn't mean the whole site is in another language, however, that too is possible, but what it does mean is you can assist your site visitors to be familiar with the help, registration, login in elements of the site and is the first step to creating a fully multi lingual site.
Creating resource packs integrates all the words within the DotNetNuke structure that come with the standard installation. The Australian Language Pack provides familiar, less American style wording in the registration and mangement of the Portal. EG.. registration page doesn't say - region/zip/cell but state, post code, mobile. The words we're familiar with using every day in our own country.
What makes DNN even more amazing is that you can choose, as administrator, to make the language options available to site visitors when they get to the website, or when they register.
After working with Multi Lingual websites, I've grown to appreciate the depth of work in development and the scope of opportunity DotNetNuke has provided their users with now, in developing sites that rely on Multi Lingual capabilites in a sreamlined, easy to follow way.To make a site truly Multi Linugal there are editors, modules and skinobjects that assist in this process.
I have made available for download the Australian Language Pack Resources, as well as the Australian Language Pack which is available for free download as well as many others from the DotNetNuke website.
